Holy Half-Marathon

Wednesday, January 05, 2011  at 8:01 PM

As the pounds drop off, (by the way, I'm below the 200 mark now), I'm looking ahead to my first event of the year, the Holy Half-Marathon.  It's down at Notre Dame in South Bend, IN.  It's a perfect race for me because it is close--only 30 minutes from my house, and it's a really nice course.  The course winds its way around campus and by all the different buildings.  It's a 6.5 mile course, so we do two laps.  Because this half-marathon is so close, a whole bunch of my friends will be running it with me.  And, of course, my awesome wife, Jennifer, will run it too.  It may be the cheapest half-marathon you've heard of at $25.  I think that's for all the college kids that are so close by that don't have a bunch of extra dough!  Jennifer has talked about starting our training about 12 weeks away from the run which is on April 10, 2011.  That should be fun.  I'm looking forward to lacing up the ole running shoes and going for a run more than a 5k.  Those long runs are so rewarding!  I'll post our training plan so you can see what it looks like.

:) Gotta love cheap races. We do a half in April outside of Columbus and it's $25. Best deal around!

I miss cheap races! I think it is great that you are going to run with your wife - now, if you can just thaw out from all that cold weather!
